Thatcher, UT – George Dannie Whitley, 67, returned to his Heavenly Father on Friday, February 6, 2010 surrounded by his family at home in Thatcher, UT. Although his time on this earth was too short, the time he spent was full of love, humility and enjoyment. George was honorably discharged in the service of his country from the United States Air Force in 1964. After his discharge he spent the rest of his life committed and devoted to his family. He loved his grandchildren, cooking and photography. He especially enjoyed looking out over the Bear River Valley from his home on the hill in Thatcher.
George is survived by his wife, Carol Sue Whitley of Thatcher, UT and their three children Eric Daniel Whitley (Daughter in-law, Michele, grandchildren, Brandon and Austin) of Bear River City, UT, Bradley Aaron Whitley (Daughter in-law, Keri, grandchildren, Brianna and Jacob) of Tremonton, UT and Rebecca Louise Stein (Son in-law, Butch, grandchild, Cameron Friday) of Bear River City, UT. He is also survived by his Mother, Helen Whitley, Sisters: Ruth Clark, Helen Rice and Patsy Tonseth of Hot Springs, AR and Brenda Klump of Buena Park, CA. He is preceded in death by his Father, George L. Whitley and Brother, Roy G. Whitley.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 13, 2010 at the Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton, UT. Services start at 11:00 a.m. with the family receiving condolences starting at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. The family would like to thank those individuals of Rocky Mountain Hospice, Pastor Joe Johnston of North Hills Christian Fellowship and the Bear River 1st Ward Relief Society for their support of the family during this time.
